Emily K. Reuter's insight:
Here we see how an on-campus elementary school uses personalized learning via technology in the classroom. Taking these same concepts, how can this be applied to an online college-course classroom? The suggestion of creating a 'must do' and a 'may do' list for students is one that I have used before. The 'may do' list is often more exciting than the 'must do' list and I have seen evidence that students do the 'may do list' first. Students enjoy the freedom to direct their own learning. What other types of lists can you think of that would ignite interest in your online students? How about a creative tasks list or a skill-booster list for extra points or credit? Think outside the box.
